Grants awarded by the Foundation are subject to a number of conditions. These are listed below.

Successful applicants will have to report progress at agreed intervals. This may require supervisors to ratify that progress is going according to plan.

Apply by 30 June
  1. Grant Period

Grants are made for a 12-month period which is generally counted from the first installment. The intention is that grants are made separately each year and are not designed to extend into several years' work.

  2. Grant Funds
    1. All funds are to be used for the proposed project. Any funds unused at the conclusion of the project are to be refunded to ARTFinc.
    2. Funds are not intended to be used for equipment costs unless specifically stated in the notice of grant.
    3. If the grant is administered through a University, no amounts may be deducted from the project account for administrative overheads or other similar charges.
  3. Payment

Lump sum payments are only available in unusual and exceptional circumstances. They are not encouraged. Payments will generally be made in accordance with the agreed schedule.

  4. Reporting

Regular reporting is considered a condition of the grant, and failure to supply regular reports as agreed may result in delayed or suspended payments. The reports, whenever possible, should follow the suggested format included with the notice of grant.

The report is also an appropriate opportunity to advise ARTFinc of any difficulties or delays that may crop up during the course of the project. Reports should be provided by email to artfinc@gmail.com.

  5. Acknowledgements, Publications and Publicity
    1. Where a project is part of research undertaken in an institutional context (diocese, parish, hospital, tertiary institution, etc.), this must be indicated in the application, and a letter indicating support from the institution must be included with the application.
    2. It is anticipated that project outcomes will as far as possible be made available to the wider community.
    3. ARTFinc's participation is expected to be appropriately acknowledged in any publicity and publications associated with the project.
    4. Copyright associated with any project remains with the applicant, but ARTFinc reserves the right to use the applicant's name and research topic for purposes of publicity.
  6. Indemnity
    1. The grant recipient shall at all times indemnify and hold harmless the employees, agents, and Governors of ARTFinc from and against any loss (including legal costs and expenses on a solicitor/client basis), or liability, reasonably incurred or suffered by any of those indemnified arising from any claim, suit, demand, action, or proceedings by any person against any of those indemnified where such loss or liability was caused by willful, unlawful, or negligent act or omission of the grant recipient.
    2. The indemnity referred to above shall survive the expiration of the conditions of this grant.
    3. Where the project involves human subjects as an aspect of the research, the applicant is responsible for having the project endorsed by the Human Research Ethics Committee supervising the research.
